Shivrr

Shivrr  | actuated wearable

An actuated, experiential wearable piece for the upper body, effecting and effected by the body language of the wearer, as well as by the surrounding environment.

Shivrr is an actuated wearable piece for the upper body. The garment is a mobius strip that gets twisted around the waist and shoulders of the wearer. It cannot be described neither as a blouse nor as outerwear, but more as a new design, in an in- between category. The garment senses when someone approaches the wearer from behind.

At this moment, a servo, controlled by an Arduino, pulls an invisible thread and visualizes the “shivers” that the wearer might feel. The person wearing “Shivrr” becomes aware of the presence of another person walking behind them and the person approaching realizes that they are being perceived. This also creates a bolder and empowering posture of the wearer, which can be intimidating to the person approaching.
